.....boring day!
But I was productive,
I cleaned the bathroom, did laundry, dishes and cleaned up the back porch.
It all needed to be done anyways, I'm glad its over.
I'm tired!
I did fit in a bit of shopping though,

Red Coats

So I thought I'd share my perfect/favorite red coat.
I think every girl should have one.
This is my favorite color red-tomato.
It was a little warm today for a coat, I got away with it for a few hours in the late morning.

It's a wonderful corduroy fabric. I must say I get lots of compliments when I wear it.
Actually all of my Anthro coats get some sort of attention :)

Twisted With Words

Tongue-twister:

~I don't know why, but I've been having tongue-twisters in my head today.
SO silly.
I used to have these tongue-twister books when I was in Elementary school.
Do you remember Scholastic-Book-Club?
Those Fridays when the teacher would send you home with that thin little newspaper-type order form.
Pictures and descriptions of dozens & dozens of books.
This was such an exciting time for me.
To turn in that order form and wait until your books came in. The teacher would call your name and you'd head up to her desk and pick up your package.
Such good times, I love that memory!
So this is when I ordered my tongue-twister book, along with a few Garfield books ;)
Here are a couple favorites that I remember:
"Betty"
Betty bought a bit of butter to put into her batter.
But the bit of butter made her batter bitter.
So Betty bought a bit of better butter to into her batter.
And the bit of better butter made her batter better!

Pete's pa pete poked to the pea patch to pick a peck of peas for the poor pink pig in the pine hole pig-pen.

Geez, I have a good memory! Those were two of my favorites.

Favorite For Friday

I know we all have a favorite outfit. Right? You know when you wear a certain outfit, your in a certain mood? Ya know what I mean? One of those feel good dresses? Anyways, this jumper-dress is just that. It is just one of those ensembles that makes me feel good when I wear it. It's not a new outfit really, each piece I've had for sometime now.

I promise I'll get better at picture taking. This camera is so sensitive!! Again, I apologize for the burr-y picture. I must adjust the stabilization? I guess I'm a little shake-y.......darn coffee!

A Nightime Kitchen & Breakfast Nook

Picture taking for blogs is fun..huh? Well,

this is snippets of my kitchen, above is the breakfast nook.

I just picked up this crochet tablecloth while thrifting. Isn't it lovely? Funny thing actually, the little "mens heads" you see there started when I picked up one, again while thrifting. Now for the past few years it's started as a collection. It really was not intentional. They are very intriguing though, each hand painted in England by Bossons, and so very detailed. I really want to stop.*lol*... I have so many now, I'm running out of wall space on that side.

I also recently took off my cabinet doors, I think I like it. I added some good ole Ikea lighting to brighten them up a bit. I think it keeps it interesting and at the same time shows off some of my favorite dishes and what not. It also helps keep you not so clutter-y, you can't very well hide a mess with no doors.

This is my little coffee/tea station :) I also picked up a slew of these vintage "bar towels", while thrifting of course. They are super cool. Each one a different color with a different kind of liquor or beer.

Now, I'd like you to meet Hinne, one of my many forest gnomes. He is probably my favorite! He keeps me company while I'm cooking. Along with his little squirrel friend ( a target find).

In Which All Is Filled With Love..

I know, I've never been a huge fan of Valentines day, I don't know why really. Don't get me wrong, I am all for romance & love*lol*. I just thinks it's gotten too "spend-y and stress-y". I do have some wonderful memories though, especially as a child. Those Valentines Day parties in school are the most memorable of all. I just loved, loved making my V-Day mailbox for my desk. Paper doilies, construction paper and glitter ::sigh::, Good Times! My parents made V-Day a big deal. I was spoiled rotten. My mother always made it so special every year. I really looked forward to it. It's just the little things that make me happy for today. Writing little Valentines to friends and family, little V-Day candies, baking, and eating(of course).
I did have a lovely day with my sweet-pea. Breakfast in bed, spooning with a kitten or two, opening a most thoughtful present from my Valentine, Indian Food for dinner, than snuggling with my new present( the above warm, cozy, combed wool throw blanket) with a good book and my favorite cup-o-tea.


Sounds perfect? Well, it was, for me ;). I hope your day was perfect in your own way! Bye for now...

Friday the 13th is a superstition about a day of good or bad luck. So either way you look at it, I hope it's a good day for you! Apparently 2008, stated that "fewer accidents and reports of fire and theft occur when the 13th of the month falls on a Friday than on other Fridays, because people are preventatively more careful or just stay home; but statistically speaking, driving is a little bit safer on Friday 13th; in the last two years! So that's good news, I guess.

Staying Cool

So I picked this up today. I'm very excited, it's really cool. I'm doing my part keeping "green" and it's really cute. Perfectly sized for my morning and not-so-morning cups of coffee. I think it's going to be fun fooling people that it's porcelain and not a paper cup. Should bring a few smiles
and I hope it holds up for me and doesn't break, it is a bit fragile.

I had a really nice Saturday! Beautiful sunny, but cool day in my area of California. I just love our weather, most of the time, we always have a few months of warm, a few of hot, a few of cool. Well you get the idea. So today was one of those perfect spring-like days. As soon as I find the perfect camera for me I will begin to post pictures. I'm hoping to make some "blogging friends" soon, so please feel free to visit now and then, and leave a comment if you wish to :) I will certainly return the favor.
