Mail Happiness!

Yes, it is true!
I LOVE mail!
I mean who doesn't?

Three lovely things, on its way, in the mail for ME!

Completely unintentional....but, actually,
now that I've collage'd them all together, they might make for a very quirky-sweet, lovely outfit!

Good time to kiss the mailman!

Old Things & Iced Coffee

My goodness...it's Wednesday already?
Where did the week go.
Well, it was a four day weekend huh? That always makes the week feel soooo much shorter.

I attended the most lovely antique street faire this past Sunday.

I photographed some of my finds :)

This show was perfectly located! A small town really close to the bay, so the fog was above. Making the morning so crisp and cool. Centrally located in old downtown with charming little cafes along each side. I had a wonderful day!

I know I been obsessing on little moss terrariums lately.
Somethings that's been around for decades, and they have been just recently been brought to my attention.

The round one of the left is sitting on top of an old lamp base that I bought too.

I actually made these two myself!
I picked up these two beautiful vintage

Apothecary

Lidded jars at the show,
and found some of my own moss growing around our fish pond.
Didn't they come out lovely?
I'm so proud of myself :D

Then I came along to this beautiful old children's sewing book. *sigh*
It's so precious, I knew I just had to have it!

Complete with patterns, and tutorials!
Eek!

I found this vintage cigarette case.
I actually have a similar modern one I purchased from Urban Outfitters years ago that I use everyday for my drivers license and essential cards and what not.
Got to thinking as I walked around how cool it would be to use an antique one.
So I found this gold beauty, from Germany! Very pretty..I love it!

I have so many more things to share with you! Lots of sweetness for my shop. I don't have the time today to share. Lots of pictures to take. If time is on my side I will get to it tomorrow, and give you a sneak peak before I list them.

Now I'm gonna finish my coffee than run to ye ole P.O.

Happy Wednesday Lovely Bloggers!

The comforting sounds of a lawn mower in the distant.

Smell of coffee brewing.

What's A Girl To Wear

when it's almost 100' degrees outdoors?

Such a dilemma for me, a girl who hardly ever wears shorts or pants. I do own a few sets of shorts & pants. I do like capri's....sometimes, I don't know *sigh*. So in this case I make a HUGE mess in my closet searching for my Jams World Dress's. I own about 15 of these sweet little dresses and have owned them for years.
I still like them, especially with the high temps(like today). You feel like you should be in Hawaii or the Tropics. But hey, that's not a bad thing.
If any of you ladies come across a Jams World Dress, please try one on. There is really nothing in the world more comfy.
These little dresses are perfect for traveling. Great for the beach! You can wad them in a little ball in your suitcase and they come out just as they were. They have that kinda crinkled look anyways.
No buttons, no zippers just slip 'em on!
I feel very "Californian".
And I notice, they're a real eye-catcher, if ya know what I mean. Kinda flouncy and sexy, I guess. Which is not the look I'm going for! ha.ha- I swear!

But in all seriousness,
this is the best attire I can come up with in
triple digit weather
:)

Mahalo!

Hope your cool or stayin cool wherever you may be.

Given Heavy Walls

My newest Etsy purchase from the lovely shop weegreenspot.

I'm just madly in love with these tiny little worlds. They are my newest obssession! If I only lived in or around a big green forest, I'd make a gazillion of these and have them in every window of my home. They are so precious. Maura, over at weegreenspot, is the nicest lady. Very helpful and these beauties come packaged so nicely. Thanks Maura!!

and of course I wanted to share one of emilys paintings. Quite appropriate for this post...with such a wonderful quote. And so, very, very true as well.

beautiful.

Shoppe Talk

I've been really under-the-weather these last few days.
Not up to blogging :(
Not up to much really...
Maybe it's the changing of the seasons?
I get a little depressed when it starts getting hot.
Today was better, cooler... so I crawled out of my shell :)

I had a wonderful day of thrifting!
Today and last Saturday.
I still need to photograph all the cool vintage books I've found. Books are a little tedious, picture taking, examining pages, copyright dates etc. I love listing books in my shoppe though. I've always been a book lover, it makes me feel so good to find these diamonds in the rough.
I'll get to it soon, I promise :)

In the meantime...

Rain, Rain Go Away

Yes, sad to say.
This was what it looked like today.
Only two times a year comes this awesome antique street faire. And when they say street it's literally on a street. Not such a good thing when it's raining. We arrived about 9:30 this morning and the rain had stopped a little bit. Come to find out at 7:30 they had a huge down pour and a lot of the antique vendors headed home :(
So it wasn't too bad at first, it let up and we were able to do a little bit of shopping. But not much, I felt like we had to hurry because of the clouds.

I tried to keep my mind focused! So hard to do when all I want to do is buy for my shoppe. I told myself that today was for me. But I found myself thinking about others, my shoppe and not myself. I picked up some lovely things, I'll try to have them in ye 'ole shoppe this week. But until then I thought I'd share a few things that tickled my fancy and caught my eye (Special finds for me).

This adorable little miniature floating vessel, I'm so very intrigued by "ships", old Pirate Ships, Schooner's. They're so mysterious and magical! This one was hard to photograph, but it's just the sweetest!

Another vintage silhouette for my collection. I love these silhouettes from Disneyland. When you find them, the older ones all have wooden frames. When we visited Disneyland in December, and had our own silhouettes cut, they are now made of plastic :(
*yuck*
They are really hard to find, but when I'm shopping I'm always on the hunt for them.
People say they creep them out, I have them all hung over our bed. It's a very dramatic look, and I just love it! They are so enchanting and haunting at the same time. Two things I adore!

These little beauties ended our visit so nicely!

The antique faire is held on a strip of town that is the historic part, all the cutest little shoppes join in and have little tables with there goods on them. Walking by this charming bakery and I thought hmmm, "Hold my umbrella." I said to Mr Friend and I went in and asked about French Macarons. The guy is like "Oh yeah, come on in and sample one". Of course, by heart skipped a beat. I've never found a bakery that makes them. He proceeds and brings out a coconut macaron :(
I glady accepted the sample, told him how yummy it was and sadly stated it was not what I was looking for, but that this was still delicious.
He went to the back and this little Asian lady came out and I explained what I was looking for.
I'll tell ya she looked so puzzled, as if she had no idea what I was talking about. She took a good five minutes, and out she came with a lovely plate of these--HOORAY!

"I'll take them all!", I said.
And off I went into the sunset.....well not really. But it was the end to an almost perfect day!

Aren't they pretty?

Mr. Friend is cooking me some deep fried Catfish and Jambalaya, and guess what's for desert?

Ugh....after tonight, I'll need to diet for two weeks ;)

The End

of the week------hooray!!

It's been a good one though. Mr. Friend put in a whole house fan for me this week :D

I'm a happy gal, I tell ya it's the little things for me :)

Do ya'll know what that is? A whole house fan? I'm sure many of you do, but for those that don't let me tell you its A.M.A.Z.I.N.G that's what it is. No seriously, I've had it a few days and WoW. Our cottage is a two-story, and I know this will make all the difference this season and next. I can already feel it. Plus I'm saving energy and plus we get a big rebate from our electric company! I'm very excited about all of this. Thanks for listening to me ramble about it!

Two times a year(May&October) there is an awesome antique street faire not too far, it is this Sunday. I always look forward to it. I can't wait! If I find anything good, I'll let ya know..K?
